Private Label Activewear Logo Labels and Packaging Options

Plan logo application, woven and printed labels, hangtags, barcodes, polybags and cartons for a complete private label activewear program.

Primary topic: private label activewear branding optionsBy CCLIYA

Treat Branding as Part of Product Development

A logo is applied to a physical material, so the branding plan should be tested with the garment. Placement, surface texture, stretch and washing can change the final result. Include branding in the sample process instead of approving a digital mockup alone.

Prepare vector artwork and define the color reference. State the finished dimensions and measure placement from stable garment points. Terms such as 'small logo on the waist' leave too much room for interpretation.

Compare Logo Methods

Heat transfer can create a clean, lightweight mark and is widely used on performance garments. Silicone transfer can add a raised or matte effect. Screen printing works for selected artwork and quantities, while embroidery creates texture but may be unsuitable for very light or highly elastic areas.

The right method depends on fabric, artwork, placement, quantity and required handfeel. Request a test on the actual material and review adhesion, stretch, edge quality and color before bulk production.

Build the Label Set

The main label identifies the brand, while a care label communicates composition, size, origin and care information required for the destination market. Some activewear uses a printed or heat-transfer main label to reduce bulk at the neck or waistband. Woven labels remain useful when a sewn brand detail suits the design.

Confirm exact wording, language, symbols and attachment position. The buyer is responsible for checking market requirements, so label content should not be copied from another garment without review.

Prepare Hangtags and Retail Data

Hangtags can carry brand information, product details and barcodes, but their size and attachment should suit the garment. Provide final artwork, paper requirement, finish, string or fastener choice and placement. If retailers need barcode stickers or price fields, include the data format in the packaging specification.

Use one approved file per item and control revisions. A late barcode or size correction can delay packing even when the garments are complete.

Specify Packaging and Cartons

Confirm individual polybags, protective tissue, folding method, size stickers, assortment rules and carton marks. Packaging should protect the product and fit the receiving process without adding unnecessary material or shipping volume.
