Define the Brushed Surface

Brushing raises fibers to create a softer or warmer handfeel, but the degree and side of brushing must be specified. A light peach finish and a dense fleece-like surface have different appearance, warmth and durability.

Record whether the face, back or both sides are treated. Approve a physical swatch because words such as buttery and cloud-soft are not repeatable production standards.

Check Stretch and Recovery After Finishing

Mechanical surface treatment can change thickness, width, weight and stretch behavior. Compare the finished fabric rather than using data from the unbrushed base quality.

Fit the garment after relaxation and laundering. Review waistband stability, knee growth and seam appearance because a softer surface cannot compensate for weak recovery.

Evaluate Pilling and Shedding

Raised fibers may be more exposed to friction. Select a pilling method and acceptance level for the end use, then compare new and laundered specimens. Inspect inner thighs, underarms, seat and bag-contact zones in a wear trial.

Check loose-fiber shedding on dark and light underlayers. A clean laboratory rating should be considered together with visible customer-use conditions.

Control Color and Surface Direction

Brushed surfaces can show nap direction, pressure marks and shade variation. Establish the cutting direction and inspect panels under consistent lighting before sewing.

Deep shades and melanges may display surface change differently. Approve representative colors and check whether logo heat affects the surrounding pile.

Write Care and Bulk Requirements

Confirm the care label from dimensional change, surface appearance, pilling and recovery results. Aggressive heat can change elastane and handfeel, so the approved care route should reflect the tested product.
